Congrats to Robert Remek and all of RPR Racing for their wins at
Sunshine Dragway's Heads Up Madness on 9-6-08 and Immokalee
Regional Dragway on 9-13-08 in Outlaw 10.5.  You guys are on a roll.
Matt Salminen's car is complete and was dyno'd by Steve Petty on
9-10-08 in Atlanta.  We then tested on 9-11-08 at Bradenton
Motorsports Park where on its maiden voyage it yielded a 1.18 60ft time
and a 3.08 330 time on only 15lbs of boost.  In only 3 passes it ran a
best of a 4.60 1/8th mile time with a 1.17 60ft and that was with 20lbs of
boost.  M
att qualified at the World Street Nationals in the #6 position
running 6.82@208mph
.  He was defeated in the 2nd round of
eliminations but is doing very well for only his second race with a brand
new combination.
Congrats to Bill Futch for becoming the worlds quickest Outlaw 10.5 car
in the 1/8th mile with a 4.25 et at the 2008 Shakedown at E'town and for
running a career best 6.54 et in the 1/4 mile.  Also Bill just won the 2008
World Street Nationals in Outlaw 10.5.  After qualifying in the #3 postion
with a 6.63@220 mph pass he went on to the finals running consistant
numbers on his way to a final round bout with Chuck Ulsch.  Ulsch struck
the tires in the final while Bill ran an early shutoff 6.85@198 pass to take
the win.  Congrats from us for taking a well deserved win in Orlando.
Will Stevenson qualified at the first annual Outlaw Radial Tire
Championships in the #3 position with a 4.81et. He went on to win the
event running consistant 4.80s and a 4.75 when he needed it most
against fellow DNRC customer Kevin Fiscus during eliminations.  He
faced another DNRC customer Troy Pirez in the finals where he ran a
4.79 to take the win against Troy. Congrats to Will and all DNRC
customers who ran outstanding at this event.
Will also
recently won the first Heads Up Havoc at SGMP taking the #1
qualifying spot and running consistant 4.90s all thru eliminations.  He
also was #1 qualifier and ran low ET all thru eliminations at Sunshine
Dragways latest Heads Up Madness on 9-6-08.  He faced fellow DNRC
customer Troy PIrez in the finals where he was beaten on a holeshot by
Troy.  They ran 4.94 to a 4.95.  Congrats to both.
Chad Opaleski recently converted his Drag Radial '66 Chevelle over to
a CRT built Powerglide from a Turbo 400 to see if it would pick up his
program, and it did.  After some minor adjustments to the stall speed of
the converter and a little retuning he was rewarded with a 7.90 (5.17
1/8th) on only it's 5th run down the track.  This was with a soft nitrous
tune up.  At Immokalee Regional Dragway on 10/18/07 while testing
again he ran a 5.15 with the same tune-up.  He also ran a 7.87 in
Bradenton at the Southern Nostalgia Shootout. A new 5" bore space,
706ci bullet is now between the rails and testing has already yielded a
5.11 on one stage of nitrous using only a 26 jet.  More testing will take
place soon with much more in store.
